Despite the craziness of the last month of the year, I was able to read four novels in December, bringing my tally for 2017 up to a cool 50 books read.
I should call December (and the end of November) the month of Christina Lauren, because I read four of their books in succession--Autoboyography being my first and favorite. That book deserves it's only special review, that's how much I loved it.
But, I digress.
What I read in December:
- BEAUTIFUL BASTARD by Christina Lauren -- My fourth CL book, this one fell a little flat for me. BUT, it was their first book, and I know they've come a long way since then.
- ROOMIES by Christina Lauren -- I thought this book was such a feel good novel. I read it pretty quickly as I was just dying to see how it ended.
- DATING YOU/HATING YOU by Christina Lauren -- I enjoyed DY/HY (not nearly as much as Autoboyography) but it wasn't the storyline that got me (even though it was a good read); it was the writing. The writing was outstanding! I found myself stopping every few pages to mark passages that I loved, that I thought were so well-written that I needed to note them.
- UNSOUL'D by Barry Lyga -- Completely unexpected... I’m not sure how I even came across this novel, but I’m glad I did. It was thrilling, sexy and dirty in just the right way. Now I’m going to have to check out more of his books!
In Progress
Here's what I'm currently reading:
- The Roommate by Kendall Ryan -- I've never read anything by KR and decided that I needed to change that.
- The Wife Between Us by Greer Hendricks -- My December BOTM pick that is quickly pulling me in.
Coming Up
- Amanda Wakes Up by Alisyn Camerota -- In the mood for a light read, I've got this one on hold at the library.
- This Savage Song by Victoria Schwab -- Let's just say I'm trying to expand my genre horizons.
